![]() ![]() Like JayBee, the Peterson Sweetened modes sound a bit off to me. The strum all the strings feature works OK, most of the time but I find it less useful. FWIW, I only use the TC Polytune in chromatic, not strobe mode. ![]() The TC Polytune is quicker and easier to use than the Peterson and the display is bright and easy to read whereas the Peterson display is dark and requires some interpretation, again this is my experience. IMHO, the Snarks and Korg do not have this ability. As I said, I find both deadly accurate and they both meet my tuner requirement.the ability to accurately read the low E. I keep the Snark SN-8 in my guitar tool box for string changes. The Korg performs much the same as the Snarks, for me at least, perhaps it's just my tin ear, I suspect it is. +3 Overview Updates the popular VS-II with a portable design and added features The StroboFlip VS-F Virtual Strobe Tuner is a great addition to Peterson's line of multi-temperament tuners, offering easy-to-use functionality in a flexible new design. The Korg is just OK, the Snarks are just OK and I find that the NS Micro sound-hole is actually quite good.I can't seem to get the Snarks to tune consistently as accurate as the Peterson and TC Poly. I also have an assortment of red, blue and black Snarks, a Korg Pitch Hawk clip on and a NS Micro sound-hole tuner. I have both the Peterson Stroboclip and the TC Electronics Polytune clip-on, both are very accurate and normally I don't require much if any after use tweaking to attain pitch. In the end, for me, the Snark does everything well enough, especially when I have the Peterson app with the sweetened tunings on my phone! I would have been very happy with the Polytune if the two tuning methods agreed with each other and if the clip were studier. I would have been very happy with the Stroboclip if it were a bit more durable, and maybe I received a dud, but I didn't want to chance a second one. It looks nice, but it simply did not grip the headstock well for me. If I tuned the low E using the 6-string method, then checked it separately, it was sharp. In other words, if I tuned each string individually so that each was in tune and then strummed to see all simultaneously, then the low E always read as being flat. The tuning values when read this way did not always match the individually plucked tuning values. ![]() It has a feature that allows you to strum all 6 strings and see the tunings for all at the same time. The Polytune Clip was the fastest and clearest tuner I'd ever used, but it have one major idiosyncrasy and one design defect (IMO) that caused me to return it. My experience with the Stroboclip was that it seemed very accurate and was easy to use, but my unit died within a few weeks, so I returned it to Amazon for a refund. I actually use the Peterson Strobo app on my phone the most, but my in-case tuner is the Snark SN-8. ![]()
